Often a high bill is the first indication of a leak; even a small leak can add up to significant water use over time. A constantly dripping faucet or running toilet, a hose that is not completely turned off are quick places to check. You can also survey your property for any soggy spots, especially between your home and the meter at the edge of your property. Another reason bills are unusually high is seasonal water use like filling a pool, power washing, or watering a garden.
You are responsible for leaks between the water meter and your home. When your leak has been repaired you can contact the billing department to discuss payment options on an unusually large bill. Leaks from the meter to the main are the responsibility of Davis Terrace to repair and those leaks will not affect your water bill. If you find unusual running water or standing water near a meter in the road or ditch be sure to contact us immediately so we can investigate.
Currently, you have three options for paying your bill:
Monthly payments are due by the 15th of the month. Late payment will result in a $5 fee added to your next bill. Failure to pay two consecutive months requires us to suspend service. If this occurs you are responsible to pay in full all water charges, all late fees, and a $150 shut off fee. Upon verified receipt of payment, water service will be promptly restored.
